Sunny’s was a helluva client. They let us unleash out creative juices from their weekly circulars to their radio and TV. I’ll never forget running to my creative director’s office, Ed Stern, and reading him my next script in the Stacey Starkel saga. Casting was always intense, going to New York, L.A. and Atlanta and anywhere in between. Finally one day, Ed turned to me and said, “You read ‘em. You do them unlike anyone ever can.” And so I became not only the writer for Sunny’s, but it’s voice as well.
